Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 11, 2026

This policy explains how SpookyLink handles information when you use our independent digital invitation website.

1. Information entered in the invitation editor

The event title, host, date, time, location, message, and theme you type into the invitation editor are processed in your browser. When you create a shareable invitation link, these details are encoded in the URL itself; anyone who receives the URL can view them, and browser history, messaging apps, and recipients may retain the URL. The invitation fields are not uploaded to a SpookyLink server. Avoid entering sensitive personal information in invitation fields.

2. Purchases and payment information

Checkout is processed by Stripe and its payment partners, which may process contact, billing, transaction, fraud-prevention, and tax information to complete and support a purchase. SpookyLink does not receive or store your complete payment card details. See Stripe's Privacy Policy for its processing practices.

3. Browser storage

After a completed checkout, this site stores the Stripe Checkout Session reference in local browser storage so it can be re-verified on a later visit. The server-side verification service contacts Stripe to check the payment before the paid invitation download unlocks. Local storage is not a user account or cloud purchase record. You can remove the saved reference by clearing site storage in your browser; you should keep the purchase receipt for your records.

4. Service providers and technical data

The website is hosted by GitHub Pages. It redirects customers to Stripe-hosted Checkout to process payments, loads Google Fonts for typography, and uses html2canvas from a public CDN to export invitation images. These providers may receive technical information such as IP address, browser information, and request logs when your browser connects to their services. Their own terms and privacy policies govern their processing.

5. Why information is used

Information is used to display the website, generate the invitation you request, open and complete checkout, provide purchase support, prevent misuse, and comply with applicable legal obligations. We do not sell the invitation text you enter in the local editor.

6. Retention, security, and children

Invitation editor data remains in your browser unless you copy or share it yourself. Payment information is handled by Stripe and its systems; SpookyLink does not store full payment card details. No website can guarantee absolute security. SpookyLink is a general event-creation tool and is not designed to collect personal information from children.

7. Your choices and requests

You can avoid entering personal details, close the page, clear browser storage, and contact support with questions about privacy. For payment data, review Stripe's privacy information and use the customer-support contact details shown on your receipt for transaction questions. For website-related questions, see Contact & Support.

8. Changes

We may update this policy when the service changes. The latest version and date will be published on this page.
